School Uniform
Although we are very proud of the high standards of dress we have for our children, please note there is no expectation that children have to wear branded school uniform or P.E. kits.
We believe a school uniform gives the children a feeling of belonging to the school; it looks smart and is practical too. If you choose to purchase them, embroidered items are available from Simply First Schoolwear in Sandiacre, contact details and location below.
Please ensure that your child's name is clearly visible on all items of clothing.

Children should wear sensible, preferably black, school shoes - not trainers. Girls' shoes should have a strap or laces to secure them. Heels should be low. Summer sandals should also be securely fastened to the feet (no flip-flops or mules). Sandals need not be black.
P.E. Kit
For PE lessons, children require:
- Plain T-shirt (white or dark) - large logos or football tops are not permitted
- Dark, plain shorts or jogging bottoms
- Plimsolls (indoors)
- Trainers (outdoors)
Jewellery
We strongly discourage the wearing of jewellery at school.
If a child has pierced ears, please ensure that only plain studs are worn at school. Other types of earrings can be dangerous at playtimes and during PE lessons.
All children will be required to remove all jewellery before PE. If they cannot do this themselves, please ensure they do not wear jewellery on PE days.
The wearing of watches is encouraged as it helps children to practise telling the time.

Second Hand Uniform
Our PTA, the Friends of St John's, keep a supply of second-hand school uniform. For those in need, this can be accessed at any time by contacting the school office.
Additionally, a uniform 'sale' is held termly on the school playground, where families can make a small donation to buy second hand jumpers and cardigans.
Any families who have pre-worn jumpers they no longer need are encouraged to donate items in the school office.
