Welcome to the friends of St John’s page!

Who we are:

We are a group of parents, carers and friends of the school.  We enjoy working together to raise money to directly help all of the children who attend St John's.

What we do:

We meet regularly to organise fundraising activities throughout each school year.  Our meeting are very informal and often involve coffee and cake!

What we organise:

Each year we organinse the following events:

• Bonfire Disco
• Christmas Fair
• Valentine’s Disco
• Mother’s Day service
• Summer Fair
• Leavers’ Disco

We also arrange special events, for example when the school reaches a milestone in its history such as the 175th anniversary in 2012 and the 180th anniversary celebration in 2017.

How the money is used:

Money we raise is spent on things which provide positive experiences for the children, either linked to the curriculum or as extra treats!  Some of the things money we have raised has been spent on include:

• Whole school visit to the pantomime
• Purchase and installation of the trim trail
• iPads
• Library restocking
• Christmas parties and presents for all children
• Leavers’ presents
• BEST Day Ever (annual reward day in the summer term)
