Friends of St John's
Fundraising Group
A registered charity; number 1043169
We are the Friends of St John's, a small group of parents, carers, grandparents and friends of the school.
We have regular, friendly meetings throughout the year to discuss ideas and share our plans. Our meetings normally take place after school in The Cottage, where our attendees' children are also welcome to stay and play.
The meetings typically have an outlined agenda, with time at the end to raise other points. Often, they also include a sweet treat and a cuppa!
The Friends have a 'WhatsApp' group in case anyone would like to join us but is unable to attend meetings.
Some of the events we organise include:
- Discos
- Disco decoration craft clubs
- Weekly tuckshops
- Christmas and summer fairs
- Film nights
- Mothers' Day Service
We are looking to increase events and need your help.
The money that is raised by our group directly benefits all of the children at St John's.
In previous years the money raised has helped to pay for whole school trips to the pantomime, the purchase of the trim trail, Christmas parties and gifts for all children, Year 6 leavers' presents, our Best Day Ever and new books for each class and the school library.
There are lots of ways you can support the Friends of St John's. We need volunteers to help man stalls, help set up events and clear away afterwards. We are always on the lookout for keen bakers for our tuckshop every Friday.
If you are unable to commit your valuable time, donations of any unwanted gifts or prizes we could use for our raffles or events are always gratefully received. Perhaps you work for, or even own, a business that may be able to donate or support our cause?
In all honesty, any help is a blessing.
If you would like more information, to join our group, or would like adding onto our WhatsApp group, please speak to the school office who will be able to provide our contact details.
