Getting Active

The government recommends that all children take part in 60 minutes physical activity each day; 30 minutes of which should be at school.

Is this manageable or realistic in the already busy lives of children? How does this fit in with the crowded school timetables? These are questions we all need to grapple with and we are working at school to try and make sure our children are healthy and active.  If you need persuading about the benefits of physical activity, have a look at these videos:

At St John's we have a strong commitment to PE and school sport.  We plan to strengthen and further develop the opportunities we provide in light of the above.

We have joined the Broxtowe Active Schools partnership and will look to try new ideas at school to ensure our pupils sit less and move more!
